Finland: Alcohol advertising reaches 90% of young people
According to a survey by Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), alcohol advertising reaches approximately 90% of Finns between the ages of 13 to 17. Most young people have seen beverage commercials during the past couple of weeks.
In Finland, young people tend to notice alcohol advertisements while watching television, going to shops, or reading magazines and newspapers. Beer, cider, and long drink adverts catch young people's attention the best. These are also the drinks young people consume the most.
The results of the survey are almost similar to an equivalent survey carried out two years ago. A total of 834 young people participated in the survey in March-April 2011.
